Andrea Yzeiri is a pioneering force in artificial intelligence, data analytics, and cybersecurity, dedicated to building ethical, accountable, and equitable AI systems. As the Chief Data & Analytics Officer and Lead AI Engineer at Picsume, she leads AI-driven innovation, ensuring that machine learning architectures are not only scalable but also aligned with principles of fairness, transparency, and security. Her work in bias mitigation, algorithmic accountability, and AI governance has made her a trusted expert in designing AI systems that serve diverse populations responsibly.
With a decade of experience across industries including technology, academia, healthcare, and defense, Andrea has developed end-to-end AI solutions that balance predictive power with ethical responsibility. She has spearheaded projects that optimize data-driven decision-making while addressing systemic bias, including leading the build of a custom industry-specific search engine that enhances equitable access to information (AeroMontreal) and engineering a serological scraper used for an optimized kidney-matching algorithm (McGill University Health Centre Research Institute).
A respected speaker and thought leader, Andrea has recently shared her expertise at Google Dev Fest Windsor 2024, the Odette School of Business’ 2025 International Women’s Day Driving Business Success with Technology Event and served as a judge for STEM Fellowship’s 2025 High School Big Data Challenge in AI. She is a vocal advocate for responsible AI adoption, cybersecurity in machine learning, and increasing representation for women in STEM, ensuring that technology is developed and deployed with ethical safeguards.
Andrea holds three degrees: a BComm in Supply Chain & Analytics with a thesis (2020) and a BA in Political Science specializing in Law & Politics (2020) from the University of Windsor, as well as a Master’s of Management in Analytics (2021) from McGill University. She has broken barriers as the first woman to complete an undergraduate thesis at the Odette School of Business, among its first registered cohort, and as the first University of Windsor student to receive the prestigious Mitacs Globalink Research Award, conducting research in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Beyond her executive leadership, Andrea is an educator and mentor, serving as a teaching assistant at the Odette School of Business and a sessional lecturer at McGill University, where she delivers Python and analytics workshops to graduate students. She has also contributed to the non-profit sector, serving on boards including United Way/Centraide Windsor-Essex County, and has been recognized with sixteen honours and awards for her research and leadership.
Drawing on her extensive experience in AI ethics, governance, and bias detection, she provides actionable strategies for organizations to develop AI systems that are transparent, fair, and socially responsible.
