Dragos Capan is an Assistant Vice President in Data Analytics within Manulife’s Audit and Advisory Services, where he leads the development and implementation of advanced analytics and AI-driven solutions to enhance audit effectiveness and efficiency. With deep expertise in advanced analytics and building high performing teams Dragos and his team moved beyond the traditional audit analytics to building automation and GenAI solutions that enhance audit planning, execution and reporting.
Prior to joining Audit, Dragos held senior analytics leadership roles within Manulife, including Director of Group Advanced Analytics, where he led teams delivering data science solutions across business functions, supported enterprise decision-making through advanced analytics, and established AI/ML model governance and risk management practices. Earlier in his career, he worked as a data scientist and statistician across financial services and public sector organizations, including WSIB and CIHI, where he developed predictive models, risk frameworks, and health system indicators, applying advanced statistical techniques to inform policy, operational decisions, and large-scale program outcome.
