Jean-Sébastien Michel is an innovative and strategic leader with over a decade of experience in data science, analytics, and governance. As the Assistant Vice President of Data Strategy at Aviva Canada, he develops and implements corporate Data & AI strategies that drive business value.
Previously, Jean-Sébastien held senior roles at Aviva Canada and CMHC, where he led cross- functional teams in data science, risk analytics, and market analysis. His achievements include automating ML model retraining for personal insurance product pricing, AI-driven projects to enhance insurance loss modeling, and providing risk oversight on product underwriting.
Jean-Sébastien holds a PhD in Finance. He has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented at leading conferences.
