Originally from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Kerry began her career experience in Singapore before permanently relocating to Canada, where she has established herself as a thought leader in data science in financial services.
Kerry leads the data science and engineering function within RBC’s Chief Data Office, driving strategic AI initiatives in data management, governance, and controls assurance. With a proven track record spanning over a decade, Kerry has progressed from individual contributor to leadership roles across Canada’s financial and professional services sectors.
In her role at RBC, she is focused on automation to optimize and enhance operational efficiencies and strategic decision making by developing and implementing AI/ML, Gen AI solutions and building robust data ecosystems and architecture designed to support AI/ML at scale within the CDO and the Enterprise Chief Legal & Administrative Office.

Kerry holds a PhD in Engineering and an MSc in Statistics, both from the University of Toronto. Her doctoral research specialized in stochastic optimization, providing strong theoretical foundations for her applied work in data governance and AI-driven automation.
