
Professor Ayesha Ali
Director, Master of Data Science

Ali obtained her PhD in Statistics at the University of Washington in 2002 before moving to Singapore as an Assistant Professor of Statistics at the National University of Singapore. Since 2006, she has been at the University of Guelph, where she is currently a Professor of Statistics in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, and Director of the UofG Master of Data Science program. Ali’s research is in data science and analytics, with expertise in graphical Markov models. She studies complex systems in high dimensional settings, with specific projects in diverse applications. Current application domains include machine learning for image classification, eXplainable AI, agricultural and crop management; and structure learning for human and animal health, and ecology.
